Nine charming images of cat & dogs will warm your heart and make a wonderful gift of nostalgic 'Americana'. Trading cards were used by craftsmen and merchants as a form of advertising in the 1700's and 1800's. These highly collectable cards featured children, animals and cheerful domestic scenes.
Originating in London, the practice then spread to cities in the American colonies. From a time when there was no television, no internet, no digital printing, and no radio, and advertising had a whole different significance.
